14 New Rooftops For 2019 Meetings and Events
The late spring and summer are ideal times for rooftop events. From rooftops that offer pools and lawn games to unique venues that include a water tower, here are indoor-outdoor venues in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, and other cities with skyline views, beach views, and more.
1. The Sentry
The Sentry , a members-only rooftop pool club, opens May 23 at the American Copper Buildings in Murray Hill in New York. Managed by Parched Hospitality Group, the venue will hold more than 200 guests, with a pool that can be converted into a Jacuzzi for private events. The venue also will have a day menu and night menu with Australian-Asian cuisine, helmed by chef Brent Hudson of New York-based café Hole in the Wall. The club will offer morning yoga classes, pool meditation, and guided astronomy sessions.

4. Novotel Miami Brickell
Following Accor hospitality group’s recent acquisition of Atton Hotels, Atton Brickell Miami has rebranded as Novotel Miami Brickell . The second Novotel property in the U.S. has 275 guest rooms, 5,000 square feet of meeting and conference space, and a rooftop swimming pool and the Vista Pool Bar. The 5,394-square-foot rootop can hold as many as 150 guests for reception-style events.

5. TWA Pool Bar and Observation Deck
TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport officially opens today, along with its Pool Bar and Observation Deck. Managed by the Gerber Group, the 10,000-square-foot observation deck features a 63- by 30-foot infinity edge pool that sits over the J.F.K. runway and offers views toward Jamaica Bay. The pool, which can be heated to 100 degrees and features a gold and red TWA mosaic, was inspired by the pool at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France. The space, which serves cocktails and food, accommodates as many as 300 guests for receptions.

7. The Hoxton, Chicago
The Hoxton, Chicago , the third Hoxton property in North America, opened in the Fulton Market District in April. The 182-room hotel has the Hoxton’s first rooftop pool, which is adjacent to Cabra, a Peruvian-inspired restaurant helmed by Stephanie Izard. The rooftop spans 1,865 square feet and holds as many as 175 guests reception-style. The rooftop can host private events; additional information is available upon request.

9. The Water Tower at Williamsburg Hotel
The Water Tower , a nightclub and lounge located above the Williamsburg Hotel in Brooklyn, opened in November. Accessible through a V.I.P. elevator, the venue was constructed with materials including steel, brass, and glass, and it offers views of the Manhattan skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. Other decor includes murals painted by local artists that are inspired by the neighborhood’s history. The venue serves contemporary cocktails from mixologist Rael Petit and upscale bar bites from chef Nic Caicedo. The space seats 45 guests and is available for private events.

The Upside, an indoor-outdoor bar and lounge at the new East Austin Hotel , opened in May. The venue, which is one of three bars at the four-story boutique hotel, serves a variety of classic and modern cocktails from bar lead Kenny Tinsley and Jason Stevens, director of beverage for La Corsha Hospitality Group, which manages the property and bar concepts. Offering views of downtown Austin, the 1,765-square-foot venue holds as many as 50 guests for receptions inside and 75 guests for receptions outside.
