Exploratory Events 🌑
With each passing day, I see a new “type” of event pop up that blows my mind. The first one this weekend that I found out about what the Democratic National Convention going virtual.
Clearly, we have been talking about virtual events for months now, so there is nothing incredibly new here. But it’s crazy to me that something as nationwide and important as the DNC is relying on virtual technology to execute its events.
If you were to ask me last year what this event would look like, I would probably respond, “the same way it’s always been. Politicians traveling around to different states and holding rallies.” I can’t believe that everything is being turned on its head. Even my nation’s political race isn’t immune.
But personally, I see this as a positive. More people will have access to this event than ever before, and I think the government could actually rely on more virtual and advanced technology to stay updated with the times.
With USPS crumbling, unreliable ways to vote, and so many other pitfalls in our society, I think now is the time to innovate. Who knows? Maybe one day, we will have a virtual voting experience.
It will be interesting to see how virtual events creep into other areas of life. While some people may still be skeptical, I’m excited. I think some change and update systems will benefit us.
And now, here’s The Weekly Soundcheck!

📦 Events That Crushed The Box!
Alright, so a lot of people have probably seen this circulating around. I was so amazed when I first saw this! A seated, socially distant concert?? The UK is really getting creative!
The reactions I saw on twitter varied greatly. Some people were so excited and thought this was the future of concerts. The ideal concert-going experience some said. Others were sad that this is our new reality. Having to be seated rather than headbanging on the rail is not what some attendees have in mind.
My personal opinion? Live music is live music! It must be so enjoyable to be one of these people hanging out, seeing other faces, and enjoying some beautiful tunes. What do you think of an event like this?
