As the sun sets on 2020 🌥️
This weekend, I sat with my best friend of thirteen years and watched the sunset over Lake Tahoe. We were sipping on some strawberry smoothies and enjoying the view.
After a while, my friend was ready to go because it was getting cold. I was too, but I couldn’t pull myself away from the stunning view that was before me.
I mean, how can you blame me. But, this was one of the first times where I really felt like time was fleeting. Something about it already being near the end of October, coupled with the fact that I am entering a new year of life, got to me.
There are so many changes happening right now, and many changes coming up. It’s easy to get swept up in the day to day of work and the responsibilities of life, but stopping for a second to really enjoy the last few seconds of the sunset is important.
After all that this year has thrown our way, it is easy to want to leave early and just wait for 2021. But just like my friend and I stayed for the sunset, I want to make a promise to myself that I’m going to stay present through the rest of the year as well. Some of the most beautiful moments can happen right at the end.
And now, The Weekly Soundcheck!
